This site is dedicated to celebrating the life of Sandra Ann Brusby OBE.

Sandra Brusby was born in Macclesfield on January 27, 1948. She was much loved and will always be remembered by all her friends, family and work colleagues.
We would like to thank so many of you for attending her funeral to pay your respects and say your own personal good byes.  Seeing so many faces at her funeral spoke volumes about the impact Sandra had on each and every one able to attend the service but likewise those who sent their messages and apologies who were unable to attend and have asked for the ability to donate to MNDA.
Sandra was born to Ken and Vera in Macclesfield and has a sister Julie and brother Gary, she attended Park Royal Girls School in Macclesfield and then she moved over to Yorkshire to study at the College of Commerce in Hull during which time she met myself at the Regal Dance Hall in Beverley, we were married in Beverley Minster and enjoyed a long and happy marriage together having our two daughters, three grandsons and a granddaughter.  We enjoyed travelling extensively and especially Sandra through business. After raising our daughters Sandra started her working career again working for Wimpey Construction at the Liverpool Airport site, then a couple of years on from that Wimpey were looking to set up a new branch of their Wimpey Environmental in Westbrook which they thought she would be perfect to start up – she thrived on the chance to build and grow the business as those of you who know her would understand. With the setup of Wimpey Environmental achieved Sandra moved onto Warrington Business Venture where she started as a Personal Assistant and nearly 30 years later finished as its Managing Director. Sandra also spent 10 years as Chief Executive of Business Link Cheshire and Warrington. Sandra was fun loving and a devoted family maker and was equally energetic as a professional deal maker who had a tremendous appetite for success. Sandra assisted many businesses to start and grow and also helped many to access international markets in India, Hungary and many more places around the world, she was very proud to be presented with her OBE for services to business in 2007 at Buckingham Palace and then in 2012 completed her Master’s Degree in Leadership and Culture Change from Manchester University, another of her lifetime goals achieved.

Sandra was immensely brave  through the last 18 months as this cruel disease took hold. Even though her illness robbed her of the ability to speak, eat and drink, she was always positive, her smile and love for life never faded. During her last year we enjoyed spending several weeks in New Zealand, Fiji, Hungary, Tenerife, Madrid and in Cornwall, she did what she enjoyed the most, seeing family, friends, having fun and continuing her passion for life pushing through the Progressive Bulbar Palsy, a rare form of Motor Neurone Disease, with 100% positivity not wavering, desperately in hope of a miraculous cure.

Sandra wouldn't talk about her funeral because she was steadfast in her hope for a cure and her passion for life, her dying wish would be for more support to give others the opportunity for a cure that didn't come in time for her.
